Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilt Award 2025

Central Goldfields Art Gallery (CGAG) will present the Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilt Award from 28 June to 12 October 2025. The Award showcases contemporary art quilts from around Australia

The artist whose work has been selected as the winner of the Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilt Award, 2025 will receive $3,000. The winning work will become part of the Gallery's permanent collection.

Come and see the Award winning quilts and vote for your favourite for the People's Choice Award ($100).

$3,000 Acquisitive Award

$500 Highly Commended Award

$100 People’s Choice Award

Criteria for participation in Golden Textures:

Must be an artist living in Australia.
Only one entry per artist.

Entries must be:

  • created from two or more layers of fibre-like material

  • held together with stitches or piercings

  • identifiable as an art quilt

  • an art quilt that has been created in the last 2 years

Three-dimensional art quilts are encouraged.

  1. Entry forms to be submitted to CGAG by 5pm Friday 4 April 2025 using the online entry form.

  2. Cost of entry is $10.00. Only one quilt per artist can be submitted to the Award. Please call 03 5461 0610 to make the payment by telephone. Please retain your receipt number to include on the entry form below.

  3. Notification of outcome of finalists in the Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilt Award will be made by 4 May 2025. 

  4. Successful finalists are required to deliver their quilt to CGAG by 4pm Friday 6 June 2025.

  • Note: Once onsite at CGAG, quilts will be insured. 

    At the conclusion of the exhibition, artists are requested to organise the collection of their quilt at their own expense.
