Central Goldfields Art Gallery

Welcome to the Central Goldfields Art Gallery, located in Maryborough, Victoria. The Gallery features a diverse program of regularly changing exhibitions, including works from the permanent collection, curated exhibitions and touring exhibitions. The Gallery is owned and operated by the Central Goldfields Shire Council. The Gallery is currently closed and undergoing a major redevelopment and will re-open in late 2022.

a bronze sculpture by Dean Bowen – 'Ladder to the Stars' made in 2020 (Bronze Unique Cast 46.5 X 47 X 10.5 cm) of a house with smoke coming out of the chimney forming the shape of a ladder.

The Dean Bowen sculpture exhibition 'Ladder to the Stars' will showcase a diverse range of Dean's artworks.

Our Collection

An art quilt 'Crown Of Thorns' textile made by Suzanne Lyle in 2020 design is mainly reds, black, yellow and white, an abstract design inspired by the crown of thorns plant.

Our Permanent Art Collection

Central Goldfields Art Gallery's permanent collection is based around works of art that relate to the Central Goldfields region from landscapes to textile art.

Council adopts concept plans

At a Meeting of Central Goldfields Shire Council on 25 May, 2021 the concept plans for the Central Goldfields Art Gallery redevelopment were adopted.

Indigenous Garden

Central Goldfields Shire Council has welcomed funding from the 2022-23 State Budget for$225,000 for Stage 2 and 3 of the Indigenous Interpretive Garden through the Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund.
