Mayoral chains now on display

Come and see a piece of Maryborough's history!

The Borough of Maryborough/City of Maryborough's Mayoral Chains and Drop are now on display at the Gallery in the Cambrian Room, alongside these are the chain's original carry case and an historical 1854 letter (172 years old today) written by James Daly (the Assistant Gold Commissioner) that is the earliest known record of the naming of Maryborough.

Pictured next to the Mayoral chains is Central Goldfields Shire Council's current Mayor Cr Ben Green.
